This is a work from the author of Persepolis 1 and 2. Like these two earlier works, this one is a memoir told in graphic novel form. The difference is that while in Persepolis she focused on her own childhood in Iran, in this book Satrapi focuses on the lives of the women in her family. It is an intersting look at the love lives of women in this tumultous country that is told with a warm sense of humor. The storytelling style and the drawings make it a fast and interesting read. Satrapi's work is a good intoduction to the graphic novel genre for those who have had little experience with it. This was actually the first one of her books I read. I finished it in one evening and shortly after read all her other works.
